Hi! My boyfriend and I are thinking of traveling to Europe next year, or whenever we have enough money to apply for a working visa (for 6 months to a year). We are both french canadian so we speak french and english. We have a lot of time to plan this trip so we just to make sure we make a good choice.
Right now we are really tempted to go to Prague. We’re really interested in visiting some more eastern European countries, but we’d also maybe like to go to France or some other places (depending on our time and budget) so the Czech Republic sounds like the perfect location because we’d have easy access to the Eastern countries. I’d love to learn about the Czech culture and even learn the language but I heard it’s tough. I also heard it could be hard to find a job there if you don’t speak Czech. I was going to look at teaching french, there is a school in my city where I could get a training, but my partner is a cook and his career is really important for him so he would love to be able to get a job in a decent restaurant or hotel where he could acquire some good experience. If anyone has experience working/living in Prague, do you think it could be hard for him to find work there?
We’re open to going somewhere else if there is really no hope for us Prague, but for now it’s really our first choice. If anyone as any advice for us or even another place to suggest (besides France or England–we’d love the challenge of somewhere totally foreign) it would be greatly appreciated :)
We’d love to go some place where living isn’t too expensive, and where we can easily travel to other european countries for cheap.
Thanks in advance
