Hello everyone! I had a couple questions ergarding transportation in Scotland.
My friend and I will be there next December for six days, and I was wondering what the easiest way is to get from Glasgow to Edinburgh for a day trip? It’s my understanding that an above ground train would be taken, but I am unclear how to go about finding that train, prices, etc etc.
Lastly, what is the easiest and cheapest way to go from our hotel in Glasgow to Glasgow International Airport? It would kill us to have to pay for a taxi, does the Glasgow subway go there at all?
Any help would be appreciated, thank you!!
Go to the Tourist Information in Glasgow, they will give you the detailed map and the train scedule.
i went from glasgow to edinburgh by bus (i think it was megabus) and it only cost me 1.50gbp, but i think you have to book ahead. i did it on the internet.
i was also about to recommend the megabus (megabus.com) :) it takes about an hour and a half and is the cheapest.
there are buses going between edinburgh and glasgow ALL the time. they leave once an hour, or once every half hour, i can’t remember.
easiest journey ever!
May I ask where in Glasgow they leave from? We like to have every detail planned out :)
i’m fairly sure there is only one bus stop in glasgow but i could be wrong. i actually have no idea where it is, as its been a few months since i was there (and i didn’t stay there).
its one of those things that can be found out really easily though.. check the internet or guide books.

Between Edinburgh and Glasgow there’s a train every 15 minutes and plenty of busses too. The trains are quicker but more expensive.
