I am trying to plan a trip to Germany in June, and the three cities I will be visiting will be Munich, Berlin and Dresden. I really would like to buy a rail pass to get around the country, but my question is, if I buy a 5-day pass, do I have to set specific days I want to use it, or can I use it for five days on any day I am in the country?
I plan to fly in to Berlin and take the train to Munich. Then I am planning to take the train back to Berlin the next day. I stay in Berlin for a couple of days (4) and then I would need to use the pass again to get to Dresden, and then back to Berlin. My entire trip will be from June 15 – June 26. I would absolutely need to use the pass on the following days: June 15th, June 16th, June 23.
