What are good, cheap hostels to stay in Dresden and Cologne? Also, any other better yet cheap alternatives like B&Bs or private homes?
I will be in both cities next week, and am trying to reserve beds in advance.

Cheap, very central, free internet, no curfew, late checkout… This is the one always mentioned to me by other travellers, although its main virtues are that it’s cheap and accessible; it’s not the cleanest place. Typical hostel.
* Dresden:

This has been recommended to me. I haven’t stayed there myself.
